This is how society need to work. Care each other. In Japan or Korea, nothing such like this happened. People died alone there. Old men or women laying on bed died alone. Nobody cares until the smells disturbing them. Only things that make them uncomfortable, only then they responded. That society is suck.
It's called a Wellness Check. If you're concerned about a person possibly being dead or injured, you can call your local police and they will check. HR departments also request wellness checks when employees don't show up at work for no reason. It's called being a good person. LOL
Im not saying they are nosey or spying on people around them but. I will admit they have a good sense of awareness to notice those details. I think these are the type of people who are pretty much prepared for a lot of things.

I had to request a welfare check for an elderly friend. We have not heard from him for over a couple weeks and he would not answer his door or phone. We usually hear from him almost every week. It was a sad day when the police called us back and said he passed away 😢.

They called the cops because they can't go inside the house if anything would've happened.
That's honestly how I found out my neighbor died.His trash didn't move for a while.And when I would take it out , there was no trash in them.
