  1. I’m not going to lie, I dropped Diablo IV pretty quickly. Not because I wasn’t having fun or thought it was a bad game, but rather because I highly value the ability to save my game more or less anywhere (outside of combat). I don’t tend to play games for very long stretches and it just kind of felt bad being locked out of a dungeon because I had to drop to help my wife with something (or something like that).

The game being life service just added no value to me.

  2. I bought the base game at launch but nothing they add makes me want to jump back in

PoE2 adds new stuff every league and I always jump in. Diablo just aint got the juice

  3. I can't agree more that the auto scaling of RPGs has really ruined a lot of games for me. Felt the same way in WoW when they made the change. I remember getting close to leveling and thinking "crap, I'm going to be under leveled for the next couple hours now".

  4. The thing that turned me off the game was that I could not play any of the current content unless I created a new character because of the seasons. I am not one of those people who likes to constantly start over again, so I uninstalled it within the first few months and then never went back.

  5. Played every season up until the last two, I'd given up but feel I may be getting drawn back into the darkness. It may not be the greatest game of all time but its something you can just chill out in and kill a few demons.

  6. Thank you for saying what I have been saying to all those poe andys. D4 will never be poe and dont want to be, it is an accessible and streamlined arpg experience. You dont need a PHD to play it at a high lvl, all info given in game is sufficient for you to push through. It respect your time as a player and don't punish you for clicking the wrong node or testing a build. A complete experience out of the box that dont have you spend extra for stash management.
D4 will always be my go to ARPG and I am happy to leave it after Im done building my toon to my satisfaction eeach season and return again for the next one.

  7. I honestly don't think paying for Diablo is worth it… it has more microslop transactions than f2p games, you PAY up front and get basic features because everthing good is behind cash shop.
If you start from zero it's 85$, that's fucking insane.

  8. Finally someone speaks about what kind of public Blizzard takes while doing Diablo, yeah PoE is great and has a lot of complexity and you can do a lot of things and the game rewards you while learning and blah blah blah
Man, i dont have time for that kind of games, i just want to sit down and have FUN with simple rpg mechanics, not over complicated that would take me thousand of hours to learn, thats why i like Diablo so much, is simple and fun

  9. Ive been looking for an arpg since i was in college. Went through post grad, and now work, i just cant commit to games like poe2 anymore. Tried it and honestly its great, but i just do not have the energy to dedicate myself to the commitment needed for it anymore.

If ever i do buy this, it will be the first time i tried diablo since diablo III decade and a change ago. And i think considering my time and energy, think this will be worth it with all dlcs so far

  10. D4 is missing that dark and gritty gameplay that the series is known for. It tries too hard and I think it's all the gimmicky gameplay elements that ruin it for me. IMO, it's more silly than D3. D2R is the best in the series with the most hardcore gameplay along with a dark and gritty story. atmosphere.

  11. I love ARPG's, always have. But really only when I find myself in a very certain mood every few years. Diablo really is perfect for a casual like me, who wants to hop in, likely bomb out 100 or so hours in a few weeks and then hop off, probably for a while. I enjoyed PoE2 for sure, but I definitely felt a bit of that brick wall youre talking about. Diablo is the right amount of complexity and buildcrafting that I need to scratch that itch while knowing that this isn't going to be something that I log into and play everyday for years (really havent found that game since I left Destiny). I'm actually really excited for this, cause I havent played since launch and have what seems like a TON of content to bomb thru and loot myself into a stupor.

  12. oh god yeah I didn't realize the new skill tree just has you spending a lot of points on the abilities in your build after you've made all your choices. Damn. Definitely not a fan of that, but still pretty excited. Granted I don't usually play these releases for too long

  13. You say you played the shit out of the paladin season but what did you actually play? What endgame you played? I don't really understand. This game still has no endgame challenges, I don't really understand when people say "I played the shit out of it". This is not PoE1 or 2 where you have million things to do during the game to consider it that you played the shit out of it. I've been playing Diablo IV since the launch, on an off. There's nothing in this game to login day after day to play. There's no purpose, no pinnacles, it's just a weird game. Even Last Epoch has better endgame than this. Therefore I cannot really take your suggestion seriously when you say "Yes, I think you should play this game". The game has released 3 years ago and 3 years is enough time to build upon meaningful mechanics, systems and pinnacles. They did nothing but creating borrowed powers and mindless contents like the infernal hordes.

  14. I felt in vessel of hatred the campaign experience is the same as you’re describing here. Really Diablo 4 starts to pick up once you unlock your paragon board or get build defining items
