Jeffrey Zizz charged in Tenino woman’s murder, kidnapping

Jeffrey Zizz was identified as the last person to see Marcia Norman, 82, alive.

TENINO, Wash. — The person of interest in the death of an 82-year-old Tenino woman was booked into jail, according to Thurston County authorities.

Jeffrey Zizz was booked on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping and unlawful disposal of human remains, related to the death of Marcia Norman, 82, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

Norman was reported missing April 1 by her family and was last seen at her home in Tenino. Deputies reportedly found her home in a condition that suggested she may have left abruptly and launched an investigation.

Zizz, Norman’s handyman, was identified as possibly being the last person to see her alive, because they reportedly had dinner April 1. Zizz quickly became a person of interest in the case.

Investigators learned Zizz had built a shed on an Olympia resident’s property the next day, prompting investigators to execute a search warrant.

Norman’s remains were found partially encased in concrete April 9 under the shed.

Zizz was arrested in Missoula, Montana, after he fled the state, a violation of the terms of a previous sentence in an unrelated sex offense case. He was extradited April 13 to Washington state.

More information is expected to be released Monday during a media availability.
