I agree Kennedy is the worst person for the job, but I disagree with the last senators questions. He is naming diseases that are so rare as to be almost unheard of. If I had to cut my budget, mad cow disease and rabies hot lines would be cut to four people, one for each 8hr shift and one on stand by in case one of the others got sick. Both diseases could be handled on a local, specially mad cow! That should be under the department of agriculture or FDA. Rabies should definitely be on a local basis. You get bit by a wild animal, you go to the emergency room, you don't call some federal hot line. If you did they would say go to a hospital, if you couldn't get to a hospital or medical treatment, they could tell you how to say goodbye to your kin folk and kiss your butt adios!
