
About the Event
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, announces the 3rd edition of the Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition (HIMCC 2026), to be held from March 13–15, 2026 at its campus in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Building upon the resounding success of its previous two editions, this flagship event continues to uphold HNLU’s legacy of excellence in legal education, advocacy, and international engagement.
The Justice Hidayatullah International Moot Court Competition stands as a tribute to Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah, one of India’s most distinguished jurists and former Chief Justice of India. The competition has, since its inception, established itself as a premier international platform for aspiring legal minds to test their advocacy, analytical, and research skills through simulated court proceedings based on complex global legal issues.
The 3rd edition of HIMCC will feature participation from leading national and international law universities, with preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds judged by a distinguished panel comprising Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, senior advocates, law firm partners, and eminent legal academics.
Eligibility
- All students enrolled Bona-de on a regular basis in any full-time law diploma course at under-graduate or post-graduate level conducted by any recognized institution.
- However, only one (1) team shall be eligible to participate, per recognized institution. In a system where a university has constituent colleges/institutes/school/faculty of law/department etc. each such constituent entity can register a team or the university as such can be represented by a team comprising students from different constituent colleges
Mode
The event will be held in physical mode at the HNLU campus, which is equipped with state-of- the-art infrastructure, including a Master Moot Court Hall, multiple subsidiary courtrooms, and a 350-seater auditorium for the Grand Finale.
Moot Problem
The moot problem for HIMCC 2026 focuses on pressing global concerns involving clean energy, environmental sustainability, and climate justice, reflecting HNLU’s commitment to advancing discourse on law and social responsibility.

Fee
- Registration fee (without accommodation) – Rs. 8000 (Rupees Eight Thousand Only) per team.
- Registration fee (with accommodation) – Rs. 12000 (Rupees Twelve Thousand Only) per team.

- Release of Moot Problem & Opening of Registration: November 18, 2025
- Clarifications Deadline: December 30, 2025
- Final Registration: February 5, 2026
- Competition (at HNLU Campus): March 13–15, 2026
Prizes
Attractive cash prizes await the winners — ₹2,00,000 for the Champion Team, ₹1,50,000 for the Runners-Up, and ₹75,000 each for Best Memorial and Best Speaker, along with ₹50,000 for the Best Researcher Award.
