  1. my swimming teacher scolded me because i had thalassophobia, and said: why did you wanna swim? and i got bad rashes and i got blamed, and as a result, i quitted and said: why would you make me fear beaches? and she said: then drown in the beach water. and i left and never came back. no sh!t sherlock but adults need to do something about this, and if you're an adult seeing this, speak up, because enough is ENOUGH.

  2. If a parent treated their kid like this, they’d be in court for child abuse.

Also, all these stories about coaches saying “you don’t get to call your parents until you finish”- I never did sports, but I feel like that’s way too close to a hostage situation and should be illegal.

  3. Parenting 101: Don't affirm a damn thing until you actually know what's going on in the conflict. Immediately jumping into the offense like the start here is a good way to drive your kid into a corner, isolate them, and keep them from trusting you, and a kid that doesn't trust you is a kid that keeps secrets, especially when they matter most.
