My coop has wood floors. I bought a rubber mat that is for cow stalls. They’re really thick and heavy. Cut one down to fit in my coop. Best thing ever!
They say that you are what you eat; chickens ate a photo and wallpaper, and whatever else, and YOUNG in turn, ate their "photo and wallpaper eggs" lolol 😂
Seriously mate. They are chickens not house guests. They love to pick. If you put them in the garden they will scratch up the grass and pick away your plants. Give them straw to scratch in and lots of loose greens to pick at, along with water and some feed and they will be happy. And you will have chicken manure straw to fertilise your garden. Win win. ❤
You can make an area of the pen grow fresh herbs and cover it with chicken wire so that they can only get the top most herbs. As the plants grow, the chickens can eat but the bottom is protected
Just cut the apples and put em on the ground. On a string is so much harder for them with no resistance to peck into the apple. Would you rather hold an apple in your hand and eat it? or go apple bobbing in a bucket of water with your hands behind your back? Same difference.
I would recommend a single sheet of vinyl linoleum for the floor. If you have it go up the walls about 4 inches all around it will make things easier to clean.
hellu, A good Tip: vor birds its best to sit on natural sticks at night to prevent bumblefood. on natural sticks they can choose the right size and form themselves. You do a really good job!!!

They just need a compost pile where you put grains in and toss over with veggies so they can scratch sniff and pick on the compost hill..good for your plants..they toss it over for you..get it..
Might as well let them live in the house. Wall paper , new floor , photos for the chicken .. 😅 i had chicken all my life , allways in the dirt , they destroy everything .
You could paint everything inside with paint like flex seal so it would take pressure wash more often.
