There are a couple that I would add. About a Girl–Puddle of Mudd, originally done by Nirvana, and Far Away–Five Finger Death Punch, originally done by Offspring.
Britney Spears version of Joan Jetts "I Love Rock & Roll" is just so cringe!😂 That auto tuned voice can't compare to Joan Jett! Same with all of her rock covers. She's a pop star…not a rock goddess.
I don't get why people get up in arms about covers. Nothing anyone does with a song can harm the original. Are some of them bad? Of course. That never takes anything away from the original though. The bad ones will fade. The good ones endure. Either way, they often directly or indirectly lead people back to their source material, which does a service to the original artist. I say no harm, no foul.
Like you can do a terrible production of a Shakespeare play. But when the production's done, the script it was based on will be as strong as ever. You feel me?

It should be forbidden by law to cover "Bohemian Rhapsody". Those who attempt it should be sentenced to five years in solitary confinement with Céline Dion playing in the background!

You missed Erasure murdering any of their covers – I like Erasure but they will never be forgiven for what they did to Peter Gabriel's "Solsbury Hill"
