Cool, this is exactly the lesson I was looking for. Have been working on my triad shapes all over the neck for awhile, and was just thinking I wish I could find a practical applications lesson. Great stuff Corey.
It had never occurred to me to use all inversions of those minor triads with the dom7 chord. I've been using the 2nd inversion ones on the top string set for years but never thought about them as individual Am and Gm triads. I always just thought it was a cool way of getting a C9 / C6 sound and I hadn't considered the fact I could achieve that same sound with the other inversions of those same minor triads… Lightbulb moment!
Another exceptional tutorial. Just when I think I've got this triad thing under my belt, you come along and open my eyes to a new wrinkle. Really enjoy your instructionals. Love that axe too! Keep on rockin'

I am so grateful to have discovered you (thank you, Erich Andreas!) and have been a loyal YouTube follower and purchaser of several of your excellent courses. It's one thing to be a beast of player (check). It is quite another matter to be a skilled teacher capable of imparting the knowledge in effective ways (check again). You often go above my head (hopefully I am catching up), but I always come away learning something new and inspiring. And we indeed share a deep appreciation of Robben Ford. (You are fortunate to have him on the Nashville scene). You remind me so much of him in your seemingly bottomless well of creative chord voicings and textures. Birds of a feather you are. Saw him in Philly this past August and he blew the joint open (and damn, are Dumbles loud!). Thanks for all the hard work you do for us.
