If o were a cop i would run the plates on every expensive vehicle i could. Why? Because they are human paste machines and I've seen what happens to people who get seriously hurt without any insurance.
Might be that a crime was committed involving a Lambo, and the cop was waiting for the plates to be run so he could get confirmation before pulling him over.
It may not look like it but in their cars they can put licence plates into their own board computer and bring up information on the driver like maybe no licence, invalid insurance or a previous incident meaning they cannot drive anymore. I'm not saying this is definitely what happened I'm just saying never judge until you know the whole story
