Protestors themselves report how disciplined and coordinated the insurgents seemed, and the regime change forces had coopted what were first economic protests begun by shopkeepers. Parroting the American (and European) narrative that comes from a media outlet designed to create instability in Iran, often by promoting misinformation, is not defensible if you're making educational content about this war, it'd be as if you parotted the nuclear bomb (WMD!) claim, which you rightly dispute. There are around 3,100 who have their deaths listed with their IDs by the Iranian government and (far more reasonable) opposition claims that it stretches to 7,000. That is a fraction of 30,000, yet the latter narrative circulated as war propaganda. If you needed any more confirmation of its propagandistic function, see how the number has danced between 30,000, 40,000, and 50,000, none of which having any evidence. When you just make up numbers, you can change them at will to make your enemy look demonic and pretend you're bombing a country for the benefit of its citizenry.
