  1. Alannis Morrisette’s “Ironic” should have placed somewhere!!

  2. Thriller is absolutely the all time best music video.

  3. I always liked the weird videos of Aphex Twin and Björk. There were so many great ones!

  4. Smooth criminal didn’t make the list?!?

  5. I knew Thriller had to be number one. It was the first music video that was a little movie. Will never forget how amazing it was the first time I saw it. Also back then you couldn't just google the video and see it whenever you wanted so you had to wait until they announced they were going to re broadcast it.

  6. ''Hurt'' by Johnny Cash was an awesome song and video.

  7. Hurt by Cash was obviously a political add.

  8. I miss "An Englishman in New York" from Godley & Creme in this list.

  9. probably could add Men at work : land down under and the Avalanches Frontier psychiatry

  10. #7 around the world should be In the Trash. Replace it with Paul Simon with Chevy Chase in Call me Al.

  11. Vincent Prices rap had a lot to do with the success of Thriller too

  12. Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance–#1.

  13. Watch Mojo! You missed the best! I'm Australian and I'm not even going to mention anything Australian. The best to me is American and before all of these, certainly before Bohemian Rhapsody. Although I am a real Queen fan. Love Freddy. I really do! The best has to be Tina and Ike Turners Nutbush. It really has to be the best. Made in the start of the 1970s. This is perfection. I mean, I have never seen anything like it! I'm not a fan of Ike after what he did to Tina. But this was amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNGnMQS8Xhg

  14. Thriller is not a music video, its a short film, so technically this is incorrect

  15. Here is a fun fact. Genesis always did the recordings on Peter Gabriels albums.

  16. Thank you, that brought back some good memories..

  17. No mention of Supergrass, Kate Bush, Adam Ant and a count load of others that would equal and surpass many in this list.

  18. What about I would do anything for love?

  19. Feargul Sharkey's "You Little Thief" is an ambitious plethora of two drummers, wind instruments, young people striding a continuous staircase, a marching melody, and leaping from the stage. "You Little Whore". Sharkey puts more into this one song than some do on one album.
However, I must say, Michael Jackson put more into one song than any other artist.

  20. Smells like teen spirit- nirvana

  21. Man not including ok go was criminal. Even the other song where you follow the little ball. Check out Alien ant farms tribute to MJ.
Peter Gabriel? Really. The video was Terrible, I would change the channel as soon as it came on. Original yes, good no.

  22. Young Sharon Smith Donald Davis Robert

  23. Metallica "One" nowhere to be seen. Classic watchmojo screw up

  24. 2 videos in top 10 directed by academy award winner Spike Jonze and 2 directed by Steve Barron

  25. The reason I don't sub to your channel is because you talk too much. Less talking on your videos would be great.

  26. Not a good sign, when I've seen ONE of the first FOUR videos you show clips from, and haven't even heard OF 2 of the songs.

But then you get to the actual rankings – RunDMC/Aerosmith should be higher.
"Sabotage" – never heard the song before, wish I'd NOT seen this video.
"Money for Nothing" probably should be higher.
"November Raid" IMO should not have made the list, never did like GNR.
Couldn't find #3 for a while, but I do love the "other" Sledgehammer (BTO also did a song by the same name, different song though PREdating MTV by many years).

  27. The eighties win this list
