WhatsApp to bring smart AI Handoff chat filter for business accounts


WhatsApp is working on a smart feature called AI Handoff chat filter for business accounts. While the company has already introduced many filters for conversations to date, the latest one seems to be more interesting and useful than the others.

Spotted in the Android beta 2.25.20.5 version, WhatsApp is bringing a new AI Handoff chat filter. It’s a business-based feature and helpful at times when you don’t want the virtual bot to reply to your customer.

For business accounts, WhatsApp enabled a feature where users can set the AI to answer customers’ queries. It is a good move unless the AI is unable to understand the question and requires manual help. In that case, AI handoff is the best.

AI can manage various questions, but is often unable to handle every chat situation. Thus, users can take the help of the new feature and respond to their customers through a manual message. It becomes active when AI fails to address the query.

AI Handoff chat filter collects unanswered chats in a single list and lets you easily access them one by one. Hence, customers will get a timely reply even if AI is unable to solve their problem.

Note that this feature is only for the Business accounts and will only run if AI-powered replies are active. The feature is in the testing phase but will soon roll out to eligible users.
