WhatsApp is working on a new “contrast feature” to make the chats and UI content more visible in the application. The latest capability is in the testing phase and is rolling out to some Android beta testers through the Google Play Beta Program.
In recent times, the company has developed many such features that can make the chat app more convenient for users. Whether it’s related to the UI or any other segment of the app, the firm has introduced many significant changes to date.
And the new contrast feature in WhatsApp is no exception to this theory. Spotted in the Android beta 2.25.18.20 version, the company now aims to increase the contrast of the application by darkening key interface colors.
The latest beta update shows a new feature called “increase contrast” in the Accessibility section. It is available with a toggle button to easily enable or disable it.
The description of the feature says:
“Darken key colors to make things easier to see while in light mode.”

It is a useful feature for those who are sensitive to bright light or prefer a more static interface. High-contrast buttons can enable users to easily detect UI elements in the app.
At the same time, users can also choose whether stickers and GIFs in their chats should animate automatically or remain stagnant, offering a more interactive experience.
