
About the University
Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva Viswavidyalaya, has been established in the year 2014. The university has been designed as a people’s university, as institution for the entire people of Assam, as well as India. The university visualizes to impart value-oriented education with humanistic insight in diverse fields of study so that the leamer’s become morally strong, intellectually efficient, socially committed, spiritually inspired to take part in the process of inclusive, sustainable growth and engage in the socio-cultural rejuvenation of lives.
The University has four units- Nagaon, Guwahati, Jorhat and Dhubri. The university offers UG and PG and PG Diploma courses in Performing Arts, Economics, English, Philosophy, Sociology, Computer Application, Social work, Yogic Science and Naturopathy, Sankardeva Studies, Education, Juridical Studies, Assamese, Centre for North East Studies, Political Science, Geography, Mathematics, Computational Biology & Biotechnology, Commerce, Design and Management, Physics. PhD Program is also offered on various specializations.
G. L. Choudhury College is a co-educational Degree (UG) College of Arts and Science, affiliated to Bhattadev University, situated at the heart of Barpeta Road, Assam. The college was established on 16th March, 1990 with HS and UG programmes in Arts and later Science stream was introduced in 2021.
The college has completed two cycles of NAAC visit in 2024 with latest grade of ‘B+’ (CGPA 2.61). G. L. Choudhury College has a vision to be an ideal higher educational Institution to disseminate and to share all kinds of modern or contemporary Education. In addition to regular curriculum, the college also provides various co-curricular platform for the students such as NCC, NSS, hands-on-training .
About the Seminar
The Department of Juridical Studies, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva Viswavidyalaya and G. L. Choudhury College, Barpeta Road is organizing two days National Seminar On Reviving Ancient Indian Wisdom: A Multidisciplinary Approach for Sustainable Development Through Indian Knowledge System on 9th & 10th May, 2025 in Hybrid Mode (online/offline).
The aim of this seminar is to bring together the national academicians, researchers and students, both empirical and non-empirical original research work of high quality in different areas of Indian Knowledge System.
The objective of this programme is to upgrade the knowledge and skill of teachers, scholars and students in various disciplines with special focus on Sustainable Development through Indian Knowledge System.

Submission Guidelines
- The manuscript should be in MS Word format.
- The title of the manuscript should be appropriate.
- The manuscript shall be original and unpublished
- The submission should not be plagiarized and free from grammatical, spelling and other errors.
- Full names along with designation of all the authors(s) must be given.
- Any uniform method for citation may be followed.
- Language of the manuscript-English &Assamese.
- The body of the manuscript shall be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing.
- Footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, single line spacing.
- A margin of 4cm shall be left on all sides of the paper. Paper borders shall not be used.
- Abstract: 250-300 words
- Full paper: 2500-3000 words including footnotes
- Publication: Selected Papers will be published in a book with ISBN number. Authors need to pay additional charges.
