
About the Organisation
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, established under the Haryana State Legislature Act No. 15 of 2012, is the only National Law University in the state of Haryana. Located in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City, the University is committed to high-quality legal education, advanced research, and the promotion of constitutional values.
This event is jointly organised by Centre for Gender Justice and Human Rights (CGJHR) and Centre for Constitutional Law & Transformative Studies (CCLTS)
About the Event
DBRANLU is hosting a National Conclave on “Functioning of the Constitution: Celebrating 75 Years of India’s Constitutional Journey” along with Reformis: The National Essay Writing Competition.
The initiative aims to foster scholarly engagement on themes of gender justice, constitutional transformation, and the future vision of India as Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
Eligibility
Open to all students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate degrees in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, or related fields.
Co-authorship permitted for up to two authors.
Theme
“Gender Justice and Constitutional Transformation for Viksit Bharat @ 2047”
The theme of the competition seeks to engage participants in a deep, analytical, and forward-looking understanding of gender justice as a core constitutional value. As India approaches the centenary of its independence in 2047, the Constitution’s transformative vision demands renewed examination particularly through the lens of inclusion, equality, and social justice.
Submission Categories
Participants must submit an academic essay under the main theme.
Suggested sub-themes include:
- Political Representation & Democratic Equality of Women and Gender Minorities
- Environmental Justice & Gendered Vulnerabilities
- Reimagining Reproductive Justice
- Feminist Constitutionalism & Transformative Justice
- Human Rights & the Equality Agenda for Viksit Bharat 2047
Prizes
- 1st Prize: ₹2500 + Certificate of Excellence + Publication Opportunity
- 2nd Prize: ₹1500 + Certificate of Merit
- 3rd Prize: ₹1000 + Certificate of Appreciation
- Top 10 essays: E-Certificates + potential publication in e-compendium/institutional journal/blog

- Word Limit: 2,000–2,500 words (excluding footnotes)
- Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition (Footnotes only)

Selection Guidelines
- Essays will be evaluated by academicians and legal experts based on:
- Relevance to theme – 20%
- Originality & Innovation – 20%
- Clarity of Argument – 25%
- Research Depth & Use of Authorities – 20%
- Language & Presentation – 15%
Submission Guidelines
- Submissions must be made only through the official Google Form.
- Every entry must include an originality/plagiarism report (Turnitin/Urkund/Ouriginal).
- Similarity index must not exceed 20%.
- Essays must be anonymised; identifying details should appear only on the cover page.
- Multiple entries from the same author(s) are not permitted.
