We had a snow day today (hooray!!) and I used it to make a Barbie scale birch bark dresser for the log cabin diorama I am making. I’m so excited to have it for the room. I’m going to use it as a cabinet for the living room, but I thought I might make a cabin bedroom someday and this could work double time. It is plain wood grain on the back so it could also serve as a bar/island or I could add faux cabinet doors. Did not know if this idea would ever come to fruition. I’ve had it in mind since August.
Initially, I glued the paper drawer fronts directly to the "dresser front" with out any mat board. It looked really flat and not at all convincing. This is much better.
I am running out of birch sticks so I’ll have to keep on a lookout for a local birch tree. We have a few around here, but none that I can think of right now.
