5. Covered the cardboard with scrapbook paper.
6. Cut a hearth from the double thick corrogated cardboard and glued two pieces together to be the same thickness as the wooden base. Covered it with more brick scrapbook paper.

Nothing is attached, yet. The blue paper is from Hobby Lobby and the weathered bricks are from Michael’s.

This firepalce is pretty large – about 16 inches tall and 18 inces wide.

I still have to hang the pots and add some details. Since it is wooden, I will be able to screw stuff right into it so I can hang these heavy pots.

I should soot it up, but I always have a tough time weathering stuff that looks nice and clean!

The black kettle was from yesterday’s antique show and I found the silver cauldron at a thrift store for $4 about a year ago.

I will be making something like this for my dollhouse kitchen eventually. This would be an easy method for a Barbie scale fireplace, too. Just start with a box.
