21 Stars

21 Stars

Racing to finish one last project before we move next week… Originally this idea was meant to be made with fabric but I decided for time purposes- I would use paper… I don’t sew half as well as I cut and paste. These stars are the fronts of 21 cards I will be sending off to family and friends in celebration of the summer season. Summer in America is all about family, fun, and patriotism. We have Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th and Labor Day. I thought an Americana star would be perfect. Made with scrap book pages, I think these are all from a book called Decorated to Death, and bits of scrapbook papers in red, pink, orange, blue, and aqua…I’m not a traditionalist when it comes to flag colors. Each star is glued to a heavy piece of cardstock- the back will have a scrapbook page and my Summer Words… still working on that. I will probably have to build envelopes too- these are 6.5×6.5- not sure I can find an envelope to fit, no time to shop- need these to go out in the Mail on Thursday! (I know! The movers are coming- and no I am not ready… I’m avoiding the boring tasks ahead. Card making is more fun.)
