Honda NSX – 1991

Honda NSX - 1991

Headlining an invasion of Japanese cars into the upper echelon of automotive greatness, the NSX redefined how mid-engined supercars would be judged.

Assisted in devlopment by no less a legend than Ayrton Senna, the aluminium bodied NSX had unsurpassed agility. Performance was provided by a 3.0 litre V6 producing what would now be considered only ‘adequate’, this engine was later expanded in capacity to 3.2 litres to provide improved torque. Honda has considered replacing this icon with a newer, V10-engined car, capitalising only their involvement in Formula 1. This project was cancelled during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008.

Perhaps a move to lightr cars that can be enjoyd at sane speeds will see a future Honda supercar reflecting the original NSXs strength of purpose.

This Lego model has been created for Flickr LUGNuts 35th build Challenge – ‘Big In Japan’ – celebrating cars, bukes and trucks from the Japanese automakers.
