The new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Grand Complication Openface has a 44.5mm case made of grade 5 titanium (along with a matching bracelet). Despite the wider case sizing, which is on the larger size for the Overseas line, this massively complex watch is just 13.1mm thick (thanks in no small part to a movement that is only 7.9mm thick). This is quite impressive as 13mm is a casual thickness for many sport watches, let alone those with so many complications. There are sapphire crystals front, back, and in the middle, as the “Openface” execution uses a transparent dial element with registers that appear to float above the mechanics of the movement.
Let’s get to the movement, all 602 components. The Vacheron Constantin 2755 QP is a hand-wound movement that ticks at 2.5Hz, has a power reserve of 58 hours, and carries the Hallmark of Geneva. The movement is one of the most complex that Vacheron Constantin produces, and it was initially released in 2005.
