So I’m a bit of a magpie. I’ve been seeing these gigantic big necklaces, but they are expensive. Of course, being me I think "pfffft I can make that!" It’s really simple too. The backing is just a few layers of scrap felt (I used brown to coordinate with the yellow, but any dark nuetral would do I think). The "jewels" are cheap plastic buttons (shanks removed), plastic gems, and scrapbooking brads. I just arranged them how I liked, attached them to the felt with glue, then cut around the shape and added another layer of felt for stability. On the second layer I left some little "tabs" of felt the top and used them to secure the chain with a few stiches. I think the next one I want to make more of a yoke shape, but I do like it. And probably less than $10 for all the materials.
