Protaetia speciosissima (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae).
This is an unusual post, now I’m showing a part of my profession. Officially I make rings, earrings and other jewelry but always had a desire to create an insect from metal. Silver is a perfect choice, it can be casing and filing easily. I took a dry specimen from my collection to make the rubber for lost wax casting. The body was casted from 3 main parts: elytrae, prothorax and the abdomen. The head and legs were filed out from rods. The eyes and scutellum were made from 18K gold. The size is just the same as the original beetle.
