Tea Is Love by Adib Khorram and Hanna Cha

Happy, happy Monday! I’m grateful Adib Khorram and Hanna Cha stopped by to celebrate their beautiful picture book, Tea Is Love. We discussed tea, Hanna’s illustrations, picture books, the five senses, and more. I wrote the words in purple, Adib wrote the words in black, and Hanna wrote the words in green. Thank you, Adib and Hanna!

Tea is love! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Tea is…an expression of a place, and a time, and a moment. You might see countless sunsets, but each one is different, just like each cup of tea is different.

Hanna Cha’s illustrations take my breath away. There’s warmth and tenderness in every brush stroke, and immense love and respect for her readers.

Picture books are love too! One of the most magical things in the world is taking the time to share a book with someone.

Adib Khorram’s manuscript for Tea Is Love is like a poignant and gentle dance. His words say just the right thing in just the right way. It allows the reader to gently sway into the pages.

Tea is a bookmark. I find myself remembering my time with my family and friends over tea with clarity. Maybe it is because we are sharing the same five senses together over a small ritual but it is like a little quiet bookmark of memories for me.

The art was created with warmth. Hoping that my art can be a soft reminder and show how we are connected to one another. I hope this book can give readers that perfect feeling when you hold the mug of warm tea that is just right.

Congratulations, Adib and Hanna!
