Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) shared an audio recording of several graphic, violent threats he has received in the wake of President Donald Trump suggesting Crow’s actions of urging U.S. military members to “refuse illegal orders” were punishable by death.
Crow was among six Democratic lawmakers who recorded a video calling for service members to disobey illegal orders. Trump responded on Truth Social, suggesting the death penalty should be used against them, writing, “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!”

Trump’s post sparked a flurry of lawmakers condemning the post and violent rhetoric. On Friday evening, Crow posted a compiled audio recording of violent threats, among which people have called for his death and the death of his family, that he has received this week.
The callers called Crow a “worthless f***ing traitor” and “scum,” but reached far more graphic extents.
“You disgraced America, and I pray you die today, but not before your family does. I pray they die a painful death,” one of the threats against Crow said.
Crow called for the condemnation of the rhetoric.
“Trump called for my arrest, prosecution, and execution. Almost immediately, the threats exploded—against me, my family, and my office. All Americans must condemn this political violence,” Crow said.
In response to the Washington Examiner‘s request for comment, the White House pointed the publication to Trump and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s comments from today.
“I’m not threatening them, but I think they’re in serious trouble. I would say they’re in serious trouble. I’m not threatening them, but I think they’re in serious trouble. In the old days, it was death that was [the penalty for] seditious behavior, that was a big deal. Today, nothing’s a big deal. Today’s a different world,” Trump said on Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade Show.

The six lawmakers — Sens. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), and Reps. Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Chris Deluzio (D-PA), Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), and Crow — urged military personnel to “refuse illegal orders.” They said “threats to our Constitution” are coming “from right here at home.”
“These are people that, in my opinion, broke the law,” Trump said. “Now what happens to them, I can’t tell you.”
