PXG has added four new Lightning drivers to the USGA conforming list with the Max 10K, Max Lite, Tour Mid and Tour models unveiled in September 2025.
The Lightning models are the replacement for the Black Ops driver series, which all achieved 10K MOI for the first time.
PXG have made a switch to fit in with their rival brands by expanded the range on the Lightning series to offer a wider range of options.
The four models launched include the Lightning Max 10K for ultimate forgiveness, the Lightning Max Lite for golfers with slower swing speeds, the Lightning Tour Mid as an all-rounder and the Lightning Tour for low-spin options.
The Lightning drivers will be joined as a new addition with the PXG 0311 GEN 8 irons also launched in late 2025.
PXG Lightning Max 10K Driver Specs & Design
The Lightning Max 10K+ is the carry over from the Black Ops 10K technology and is the model that offers maximum forgiveness with the lineup’s highest MOI for straighter drives and maximum distance.
Suited for forgiveness seekers, it is set apart from other models in the PXG 2026 lineup by blending high MOI with tweakable performance for distance consistency from across the face.
It offers confidence-inspiring sound, all-conditions reliability and max forgiveness, and is suited to a range of handicaps and those seeking consistency, stability and adjustability.
The new Frequency Tuned Face maximizes energy transfer for quicker ball speeds and consistent feel, and it is complemented by an 84% larger carbon fiber chassis for superior strength-to-weight ratio and stability.

PXG have stripped back elements of the Max 10K to save weight, with the sole weights one of those features removed from the Max Lite to reduce overall weight by 14g.
Instead, it features a single 12.5g rear port weight for taking the center of gravity deep for more forgiveness, simplifying the Precision Weighting for maximum distance without complex tuning.
Frequency Tuned Face delivers efficient compression-synced vibrations for faster speeds and a more pleasing PXG sound, while high carbon content and Spined Sole enhance MOI and energy return.
The Max Lite, which is the next generation of the Black Ops Ultra Lite, comes in two loft options of 10.5 degrees and 11.5 degrees and has three degrees of adjustability.
PXG Lightning Tour Mid Driver Specs & Design
The Tour Mid model of the Lightning series is the more standard of the two “Tour” options and offers slightly more forgiveness than the Tour – suiting mid-to-low handicappers.
Very similar in design to the others in the series, this model has a lower launch and spin levels than the Max options but still has plenty of forgiveness to offer.
The Tour Mid has the two interchangeable 15g and 2.5g sole weight ports and features a tweak to the internal weighting and alter the setup options of the design.

The Lightning Tour targets fast-swinging, low-handicap players craving low spin and piercing trajectories.
The design features three weight ports loaded with two 7.5g front weights and one 2.5g rear for Precision Weighting Technology, enabling fine-tuned launch, spin and shot-shape bias up to 20g total mass shifts.
