Two years ago, on Romanian Creative Week, a beautiful costume caught my attention. I looked twice, I pinned the picture in my favorite folder, I put a mark on The Cabin brand and I said to myself I have to search for more. This May, I had the chance to meet Florentina & Ana, the two friend behind this cool #RomanianBrand and I asked them… a lot of questions – from the moodboard for their latest collection to the trends they hate or love in the history of fashion. Read, below, the interview with the designers of The Cabin #RomanianBrand.
You can find their designs on @enterthecabin / www.thecabin.ro.
More about the collections presented at Romanian Creative Week – here.
You have presented your latest collection at Romanian Creative Week 2025. What does “creative” mean to you, from a fashion perspective?
To us, creativity in fashion doesn’t necessarily mean inventing something new every time. It means building something honest and coherent, a visual story told with intention. Creativity is about giving meaning to form, finding silence in contrast, and staying true to a vision even when the world moves fast.
Tell me more about your collection – the name, the theme, the moodboard, and the person it’s destined for.
The collection is called ETCETERA, and it explores the idea of continuity, the kind of open-ended closure that invites new beginnings. It starts from a clean, essential palette: black, white, and nude. These aren’t just colors for us, but a conceptual foundation, a space of calm from which you can build with intention. The moodboard combines fluid shapes, minimalist tailoring, and carefully chosen materials that support both our aesthetic and ethical beliefs. This collection is for those who look for depth in simplicity, who use clothing not to impress, but to express.
How difficult is it to make yourself visible in the crowd? What’s your strength?
It can be challenging, especially when you choose not to be loud. But we believe there’s strength in consistency. We don’t aim to be everywhere , only where it truly makes sense. What sets us apart is that we don’t rush. We build slowly, with clarity and care, and we trust that a strong point of view will always find its place, even in silence.
How was your debut in the fashion world? The first love? And the story after that moment?
Our journey began as a dissertation project during our final year at the University of Arts in Bucharest. What started as an academic exercise quickly grew into something personal, a space where we could truly define our own visual language. That first feeling of “love” came when we realized the concept had the potential to live beyond school walls, to connect with people, to be worn, to be felt. Since then, we’ve been building step by step, balancing experimentation with clarity, and learning constantly from every piece, every mistake, every choice.
If it wasn’t for fashion, you would be active in…
Probably architecture. We’re drawn to everything that involves structure, space, emotion, and human presence, things fashion also works with, just on a different kind of canvas.
Rapid Fire
The trend you love / the trend you hate – from the history of fashion… Love: the clean, refined minimalism of the ‘90s. Not for us: early 2000s chaos.
A perfect (fashionable) morning starts with… soft morning light, a good playlist and coffee without hurry.
The next collection you want to be about… we’re thinking of something inspired by a 50s movie.
Your fellow fashion colleague from your generation you admire is… those who build slowly and authentically, the ones who don’t chase trends or attention, but stay focused and present in their process.
About you we should know… We’re two friends, born on the same day, who started from zero, from an idea, a living room, and a deep curiosity for what clothes can say. We believe in timeless pieces, thoughtful creation, and staying grounded in a world that moves fast.
