8 New Christmas Horror Movies to Watch This Holiday Season

‘Tis the season to be scary, and there’s no shortage of Christmas horror coming down the chimney this year.

Here are 8 brand new Christmas horror movies and specials to watch in the final weeks of 2025…

We’re So Dead – Out Now

A killer Karen ruins Christmas in We’re So Dead, now available on Digital via Filmhub.

Writer-director Ken MacLaughlin makes his feature debut on the restaurant-set horror-comedy, which is described as “Clerks meets Scream.”

On Christmas Eve, this restaurant is dead in more ways than one. A large party is canceled, dashing the staff’s hopes for a holiday payday. Surviving the shift becomes more than just side work when a Karen, unhappy with her service, goes on a killing spree.

Terrifier‘s Jenna Kanell stars alongside Leanna Adams, Darron Cardosa, Aaron Goldenberg, Olivia Tidemann, Kevin Saunders, Ethan Trace, Artemis, and Aria Celeste Castillo.

Camp Blood Christmas – Out Now

A holiday spinoff of the killer clown franchise, Camp Blood Christmas is available now on Blu-ray and VHS from Future Video.

Writer-director Matthew Dilts-Williams makes his feature debut on the low-budget slasher. David Sterling, producer of 2000’s original Camp Blood, returns to produce.

25 years since the first campers met their untimely end, the infamous Camp Blackwood has a new owner intent on leaving its murderous history behind by turning it into a Christmas attraction for families. As new employees start showing up, they learn the killer clown of Camp Blood may not be ready to be forgotten.

Alyssa Wexler, Adelle Tucke, Allison Egan, James L. Edwards, David C. Hayes, Ian Glassford, Loushaunce, Jeremy White, Matt Jefferson, Ondi Kaye, Mark Mackaye and Jessa Jupiter Flux star.

The Occupant of the Room – Out Now

The Occupant of the Room, the second annual installment in Shudder’s The Haunted Season horror anthology series in the tradition of Christmas ghost stories, is streaming now.

The half-hour short is written and directed by Kier-La Janisse (Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched: A History of Folk Horror), based on Algernon Blackwood‘s 1909 short story of the same name.

It follows a school teacher whose late-night arrival at a hotel in the Alps without a reservation leaves him with no option but to accept the room of a missing hotel guest — leading to a sleepless night full of strange and uncanny occurrences.

Don McKellar (eXistenZ, Crimes of the Future) stars alongside Ben Petrie (BlackBerry) and Delphine Roussel (ABCs of Death 2).

Do You Fear What I Fear – December 4

Lifetime eschews its traditional Christmas rom-coms formula with Do You Fear What I Fear, premiering December 4.

The holiday thriller is directed by Peter Sullivan (Secret Obsession) and written by Adam Rockoff (I Spit on Your Grave 2010).

When Claire lands her dream job in the city, she believes she finally escaped her Christmas hometown. That’s until holiday decorations start appearing in her home unannounced, each one with a message from someone close to her. Claire must decide who the Secret Santa truly is to escape her haunted holiday.

Ciara Hanna (“Power Rangers Megaforce”) stars with Josh Henderson (April Fool’s Day 2008), Justin Cole, Michael Silberblatt, Marc Lucia, Nicole Stubbs, Zane Haney, and Charlene Amoia (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It).

Silent Night, Deadly Night – December 12

The Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot opens in theaters unrated on December 12 from Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting.

Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85), the fresh take on the 1984 cult classic slasher has drawn comparisons to “Dexter” and Venom.

When Billy witnesses his parents’ grisly murder on Christmas Eve at the hands of Santa, it ignites a lifelong mission to spread holiday fear. Every Christmas, he dons the jolly red suit and delivers a blood-soaked massacre to feed his twisted sense of justice.

Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) and Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) star with Mark Acheson (Elf), David Lawrence Brown (Orphan: First Kill), and David Tomlinson (“Fellow Travelers”).

Original Silent Night, Deadly Night co-executive producers Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead return to produce.

“The Creep Tapes” Christmas Special – December 12

Peachfuzz will don a Santa suit in the fifth episode of “The Creep Tapes” Season 2, streaming December 12 on Shudder.

In the Christmas special, a man named Nick is confronted by his therapist’s odd behavior during an emergency therapy session on Christmas Eve.

As with the rest of the found footage horror series, Creep creators Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice co-wrote the script with Brice directing.

Duplass stars as the world’s deadliest and most socially uncomfortable serial killer, opposite Timm Sharp (M3GAN 2.0) as Nick.

The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors – December 16

Emmy-nominated “Dragula” creators Swanthula Boulet and Dracmorda Boulet present The Boulet Brothers’ Holiday of Horrors, premiering December 16 on Shudder.

It features four original shorts from genre powerhouses The Boulet Brothers, Late Night with the Devil star David Dastmalchian, Malginant and M3GAN writer Akela Cooper, and “The Haunting of Hill House” and “Midnight Mass” actress Kate Siegel.

The Christmas horror anthology is said to blend atmospheric horror, practical gore, and haunting holiday imagery.

The cast includes Bonnie Aarons (The Nun), Steve Agee (“Peacemaker”), and Tracie Thoms (Death Proof).

New Fears Eve – December 16

A rare entry in the New Year’s horror subgenre, New Fears Eve will stream December 16 exclusively on Screambox.

The indie film features genre favorites Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), and Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination).

Every December 31st, best friends Leslie, Brian, and Moses approach Hooper Industries’ mandatory New Year’s party with dread, but this year’s festivities turn deadly when a sadistic surgeon known as The Doctor sets his sights on them.

P.J. Starks and Eric Huskisson — both of whom helmed segments of the Christmas horror anthology 13 Slays Till X-Mas — co-direct from a script by Starks.

The cast also includes Lily Claire Harvey, Turner Vaughn, Matthew Tichenor, Jay Woolston, Alyssa Rhoads, Sonya Delormier, Cody Webb, and Jesse MacDonald as The Doctor.

For more horrific holiday fun, you can watch Christmas Chaos: Making The Mean One on Prime Video now and Joe Bob’s Cold Cruel Christmas on Shudder December 12.

Looking ahead to next year, Ti West‘s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol starring Johnny Depp is due out on November 13, 2026 from Paramount.

Meanwhile, Robert Eggers is developing his own ghostly take on Charles Dickens‘ classic Christmas tale with William Dafoe attached to star. Stay tuned for more.
