WhatsApp is introducing a new “Advanced Chat Privacy” feature that will improve users’ security on personal messages and calls to a greater extent. The feature will mainly focus on the end-to-end encryption to ensure your data remains secure.
The company has recently shared a new blog on its official website. As per the topic, Advanced Chat Privacy in WhatsApp suggests an extra layer of security for your “most sensitive conversations” in the application.
Over time, WhatsApp has worked on improving users’ privacy. From End-to-End encryption, disappearing messages, View Once, to Chat Lock, all these features ensure that only you can access your private conversations.
In the same attempt, the new Advanced Chat Privacy prevents others from taking content outside of WhatsApp, for when you may want a little extra privacy.
Advanced Chat Privacy setting can be turned on for both individual chats and group conversations. When enabled, the setting can block others from exporting chats, auto-downloading media to their phone, and using texts for AI features.
Speaking for the group chats, the feature is best when users are talking in groups where they might not be familiar with every member and want a shield around their messages.
How to use? Users can simply turn on this feature by tapping on the chat name in WhatsApp. Now select the Advanced Chat Privacy and turn on its toggle. The company may further improve this feature in the future.
Note that this feature is rolling out with the latest WhatsApp version. You can check the Google Play Store and install the new build manually.
