WhatsApp has announced useful features for status and channel sections to benefit businesses, and in the latest edition, the company is rolling out a new “subscriptions” capability. It is currently available to some Android beta testers.
The WhatsApp Android beta 2.25.19.3 version shows a new addition to the chat app, called “Channel Subscriptions”. From the name, the feature will enable users to subscribe to a paid channel of their choice and access exclusive content.
Subscribed channels will show a diamond icon at the top app bar to point out their exclusive content. The feature specifically aims to deeply connect creators and businesses with their customers and generate revenue effectively.
Further, WhatsApp will ask channel owners to authenticate their identities by logging into their Facebook accounts. It is a simple step to keep users’ payments and transactions secure.

Users can directly sign up for a paid channel via WhatsApp, choose their plan, and proceed to payment. Although you need to log in to your Google Play Store account. After payment, you will get access to future exclusive content immediately and check the last 30 days’ updates. You can also cancel the subscription at any point.
