Google confirmed Android 16 Live Updates feature for non-Pixel devices

Live Updates is a significant feature of Android 16, and Google has now confirmed this capability for non-Pixel devices too! The company recently suggested that the useful tool will soon reach other Android phones like Samsung, OnePlus, and more.

The Live Updates feature is an interesting and significant addition to the Android software version. It enables users to check the real-time progress of certain apps and services via notifications, without even opening the particular application.

One can check details or real-time progress of food delivery apps, rides, navigation services, how far a delivery is, or when the Uber is arriving at your doorstep.

Unlike Apple’s Dynamic Island version, Android 16 Live Updates will let users take direct actions from the notification like calling a driver, sending messages, and more.

Google first introduced the Live Updates feature with Android 16 beta for its Pixel devices. But now it has confirmed to bring the useful capability to more brands like Samsung, OnePlus, vivo, and Xiaomi devices.

According to the details, Samsung will integrate Live Updates into the Now Bar. OnePlus will also showcase this feature in OxygenOS with Live Alerts.

Apart from these brands, vivo and Xiaomi will also introduce the new functionality for their users with the Android 16-based software versions. Hence, ensure to keep your handsets up-to-date to fetch the newest add-ons right away.
