Android 16 has an easy-peasy trick that can make Quick Settings tiles more useful than ever before. While the new software version allows users to resize the tiles accordingly, it now also flashes their names below Quick Settings for identification.
Google has made significant visual changes in Android 16 Quick Settings. It now lets you resize the existing tiles to make them smaller or larger as per your preference.
But smaller tiles often skip the names. Simply put, making a tile smaller will automatically remove its name from the Quick Settings to show the icon accurately.
But Google is working on a new trick that will show the tile’s name in Android 16 Quick Settings, irrespective of its size. Telegram account holder sameera_s_w revealed that with the new feature, tapping a small tile will flash its name in the active apps section.

After making a tile smaller, whenever you tap on the tile, its name will appear in the active apps section – at the bottom of the Quick Settings. It is helpful for those who want loads of small tiles in the Quick Settings menu.
The label appearing in the section below is sufficiently large to grab your attention. The new way of identifying smaller tiles in the Quick Settings by showing their name in a different section is both beneficial and insignificant.
Yet, it is perfect for those who often get confused with quick settings icons.
