Google will give a sneak peek at some of the big changes in Android 16 ahead of the I/O 2025 conference. Android phone users are eager to witness the ultimate features of the next software version. Hence, the OEM is bringing an early look of the build!
Sameer Samat – the Android President mentioned that Google will reveal big changes to Android 16 ahead of the I/O 2025 event. While the company used to unveil its new software version at the end of the event, we can see it way before the time.
The company has scheduled a virtual event named “The Android Show: I/O Edition” for May 13 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), where Android will be the centerpiece.
As per Sameer’s statement:
“What’s new with Android has always been a huge part of Google I/O. We’ll be sharing news now to get you ready for I/O. Meanwhile, I/O will itself have even more special announcements and surprises in store.”

Apart from the small event, Google added that the I/O event will open many Android-related updates during the keynotes. The Android Show seems to be an official teaser revealing what Android has got for you this time!
Users can set an email reminder or add the event to their calendar via the official website. One can further subscribe to the Android Developers channel on YouTube.
Android 16 is currently running on the beta track. The software is about to clear the final round and hit stability. We can expect major enhancements at the Android Show event.
