7 Day Corfu Itinerary: What to Do & Where to Eat

I’ll be honest. Corfu wasn’t on the top of my list when it comes to Greek islands, but it ended up blowing me away. I heard mixed things and wasn’t sure if it was worth going to Corfu. But I am so glad I did! So I’ve put together this 7 day Corfu itinerary to help you fall in love with Corfu, just as I did!

As someone who loves the white villages in the Cyclades, think Mykonos, Paros, and so on, I actually really loved the green island of Corfu. It’s located in the Ionian region of Greece and characterized by its beautiful green landscapes and beaches with crystal-clear waters.

There were endless beaches to explore, and we ate the best food ever. As a foodie, I’ll be sharing all the best places to eat in this guide too!

How long do you need in Corfu?

There’s so much to do and see on this gorgeous island. You will need at least a week in Corfu to be able to explore all the island has to offer. Even 7 days wasn’t enough for me to see it all, but I did go to all the best bits during my time here. If you’re short on time, you may want to prioritize which part of the island you wish to see. I would say Corfu Old Town and the north of the island were the best parts! Paleokastritsa is where you will find the best beaches, but there are also so many more gorgeous beaches and hidden gems spread across the island.

7 Day Corfu Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Corfu Old Town

  • Stay in Corfu Old Town for the first 3 nights. I based myself at this 2-bedroom apartment right in the city center. It was conveniently located and had a balcony with a view!

  • Imabari Bar for sunset cocktails

Day 2: Boat Trip to Paxos & Antipaxos

  • Full-day boat tour with stops at Paxos and Antipaxos. This tour offers a hotel pick-up in Corfu Old Town.
  • I personally did this tour, and my sister and I absolutely loved it. There were swim stops and time to stroll the cute town of Gaios in Paxos. Plus, on the way back, there was dancing and live music! So entertaining!

  • Lounge on Voutoumi Beach, Antipaxos
  • Stroll around Gaios, Paxos

Day 3: Athens Day Trip or Corfu Beach Day

I traveled to Greece with my sister, who had never visited the country before. She really wanted to see the Acropolis of Athens. So instead of going overnight, we decided to do a day trip! It was actually so nice and convenient to be able to travel by plane and not worry about lugging our huge suitcases. You wouldn’t think that it’s doable, but it surprisingly was! We took the 9:40 am flight and got into the city center by 12:30 pm and our flight was at 10 pm. It was perfect for catching the highlights of Athens.

Alternatively, on this day, you could spend it relaxing at one of the many beaches in Corfu, like Liapades.

But here was what we got up to on our day trip to Athens, and read my full blog post on Athens for more details:

  • Early flight to Athens 09:40 – 10:45 am
  • 🚇 Metro (Line 3: Airport → Monastiraki)

Day 4: Car Rental & Exploring Central Corfu

  • Morning: Pick up your rental car. I used a reliable company called Discover Cars to book my vehicle. Alternatively, you can base yourself in Paleokastritsa and take the bus there. The only downside of not having a car is that you may find it difficult to explore some of the other stops in this itinerary, which include hidden gems!
  • Olive oil tasting: Learn how olive oil is produced in the region and try some local snacks with olive oil!
  • Visit Achilleion Palace (Austrian royal summer residence)
  • Head to the Kanoni Peninsula:
  • Cafe Kononi
  • View of Mouse Island (Pontikonisi)
  • Watch planes land over the water
  • Dinner in Kanoni at Flisvos or Kukutsi

Day 5: Afionas Village + Porto Timoni

  • Drive to Afionas Village (one of Corfu’s prettiest)
  • Breakfast or lunch: Luuma Afionas or Taverna Pergola

  • Optional: Boat from Porto Timoni to Agios Georgios beach (Just go to Paleokastritsa harbor (called Alipa Port). You’ll see multiple local boat companies lined up offering cave tours. They usually cost €10–€15 per person, cash preferred. Departures are on demand every 15–30 minutes, and the trip lasts 30–45 minutes.
  • Dinner by the beach in Agios Georgios or back in Afionas at The Night Owl

  • Breakfast with a view: Melisito Bakery
