Honor could use OmniVision OV50Q main camera for Magic 8 flagship
OmniVision is allegedly developing an OV50Q main camera sensor, and Honor could be the first to use this lens for the Magic 8 series flagship. It seems the company could adopt more advanced camera tech for its top-end models this year.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation hints that the upcoming Honor Magic 8 flagship might feature an OmniVision OV50Q camera lens. It’s a new main camera sensor that will uplift the photography experience to the next level.
OV50Q is a 50MP 1/1.3-inch ultra-large main camera sensor. It supports LOFIC (Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor), smooth frame transition + super frame synthesis. It improves focus speed and the HDR effect, reducing power consumption.

Other key details and specs of the OmniVision OV50Q are unclear at present. But the tipster implied that the phones with the SM8850 chips (Snapdragon 8 Gen) will feature the new camera sensor. Thus, we can expect Magic 8 on this camera device list.
Further details reveal that the new main camera sensor will be paired with a 50MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 200MP periscope telephoto snapper. The 200MP periscope lens indicates that Honor can use OV50Q for one of its top-end models.
