5 year old Huawei foldable gets important optimization update

Huawei is rolling out a prominent optimization update for its 5-year-old Mate X2 foldable smartphone. It looks like the company is breathing new life into its old yet excellent flagship devices to maintain their stability and soundness.

Mate X2 foldable debuted in February 2021. The iconic device received top-notch features in its software rollout life cycle. Though the company put a temporary break on the device after the major HarmonyOS 3.1 feature upgrade.

Looks like the device is still capable of certain more big upgrades like the HarmonyOS 4.2. And who knows, the company may bless it with other new builds in the future.

Coming to the upgrades, the 5-year-old Huawei Mate X2 foldable is now getting a very important optimization update. It is released with 4.2.0.182 build version.

Being an outdated device, the company hasn’t added any new features to the changelog. Though it has optimized the user experience in certain scenarios and even integrated some security patches released this month to boost system security.

The new HarmonyOS 4.2.0.182 version is approaching Mate X2 (AN00, AN10), Mate X2 4G (AL00), and the Mate X2 Collector’s Edition (AN50).

  • System: Optimized the user experience in some scenarios.
  • Security: Incorporate security patches to enhance system security.

Some Mate 40 smartphones were also in the news to get HarmonyOS 4.2 versions this year alongside Mate 30/P30 models. Huawei is seemingly considering a big upgrade for its old yet brilliant phones.

Though how much time it will take to push off versions like HarmonyOS 5 to the old flagship handsets is currently uncertain!

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
