Huawei began the HarmonyOS 5.0 closed beta program for the world’s first tri-fold: Mate XT. The company has started calling out the respective device users to participate in the latest testing activity and explore new software features in advance.
According to the official details, Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design is now part of the HarmonyOS 5.0 beta campaign. After months of waiting, the OEM has finally pushed the triple foldable smartphone to the software testing pool.
For now, Huawei has opened the HarmonyOS 5.0 closed beta program for Mate XT with limited slots. There are 200 seats for device users with log versions and 1800 seats for users with nolog versions.
Note that you should have the baseline version 4.2.0.175 for the Mate XT (GRL-AL10) model to upgrade to the next software build, or you may face upgrade failure.
Since it is a beta version, we suggest taking a backup of your device’s data before proceeding with the installation. Also, keep at least 10GB of free storage space to easily install the software package without any interruptions.
How to apply?
Mate XT foldable users can take the help of the My Huawei app to register for the latest beta activity. Open the app > Me > Upgrade and Try > follow the on-screen steps.
Apple and wait for the “review successful” notification. The company will gradually review the registered users in batches for up to 14 working days and push the version to the users who have the “passed the review” tag.
Note that the new software system could be incompatible with certain apps, due to which, you may encounter abnormal functioning, freezing, lagging, and other issues. Hence, proceed with the beta update at your own risk.
