Huawei has brought a sophisticated and innovative rival to the Windows and macOS-dominated market, called HarmonyOS PC. After five years of hard work and dedication, the company has unveiled its first self-developed computer OS.
On May 8, Huawei hosted a HarmonyOS Computer Technology event and launched the most anticipated HarmonyOS PC, challenging the supremacy of Windows and macOS.
While Apple macOS and Microsoft Windows have been major players in the Chinese PC market, Huawei finally took a step to turn over this game. The tech giant also announced to launch its first HarmonyOS-powered PC on May 19.
Speaking of the HarmonyOS PC, the new OS is a stylish rival to the foreign OS(s). The company is seemingly giving a tough spot to Windows with a macOS-like HarmonyOS PC UI. This time, Huawei tried to give a trendy touch to its OS.
HarmonyOS PC has a refined, smooth, and delicate user interface. It has dynamic UI effects for every segment, including the lock screen, home screen, wallpapers, multiple windows, multitasking, switching between apps, and more.
Users can easily customize the size of the app icons and widgets. They can also adjust the status bar and task bar styles as per their preference. You can even arrange widgets according to their priority or in a frequently used way.
The HarmonyOS PC operating system has a significant app dock at the bottom of the screen. This dock contains all the frequently used apps and some other important features that you can access quickly, without searching for them anywhere else.
On the flip side, the new software system also supports a three-finger gesture where you can hold the cursor to enter the multitasking center interface. Swiping up with three fingers again can bring you back to the home screen.
Further additions in the UI include exquisite motion effects, elegant motion feedback, and realistic light-shadow texture that gives a pleasant view on the home screen.
