Huawei MateBook Fold PC will soon receive a new display mode. One of the company’s officials has recently announced that the foldable PC will soon get some new screen upgrades. These additions will roll out with a new software update.
Bruce Lee, the CTO of Huawei Device Business Group, today announced that the MateBook Fold PC will support a new display “DP in” mode for enhanced visuals.
DisplayPort or DP is a digital display interface feature that is primarily used to connect a computer to a monitor. It offers higher bandwidth and allows for higher resolutions as well as refresh rates.
The best part of DisplayPort over HDMI is that the latter supports only one monitor. However, the DP can support multiple monitors at the same time without interruptions.
Bruce Lee added that the MateBook Fold hardware does support DP in mode and users can turn it into an 18-inch portable display. On the other hand, it can also connect to a handheld game console, allowing users to play games efficiently.
Although the DisplayPort functionality for the foldable PC is still under testing. Huawei confirms that the feature will soon rollout via the upcoming HarmonyOS versions.
