Looks like Huawei is upgrading the Mate 70’s multi-spectral camera for the upcoming Pura 80 models with about 5MP. A new input reveals that the company has tested an enhanced color-sensing lens for the new flagship smartphone lineup.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation reveals that Huawei will use an iconic 5MP multi-spectral camera for the Pura 80 series. Instead of the same 1.5 megapixel lens, the company is upgrading the respective sensor for better performance.
The tipster adds that the upgraded multi-spectral sensor will offer stronger benefits over the one present in the Mate 70. It will boost color accuracy and result in higher-quality photos/videos, and can easily manage complex ambient light areas.
Notably, the tipster didn’t reveal the device for which the company will use its alleged 5MP multi-spectral sensor. Since Pura 80 is the upcoming series, we may see this addition in it. Or else, the company may sport it with Mate 80 or Pura 90.
Other benefits of this new multi-spectral camera are unclear at present. But if it is coming with the Pura 80 handsets, it will soon surface on board with more details.

The Chinese OEM first introduced this camera sensor to the Mate 70 top-end models. It ensures rich, colorful shots, as well as highlights natural skin tones irrespective of the lighting conditions. Thus, you get vibrant and clearer shots in every click.
After the Mate 70 series smartphones, the company has used the newest camera sensor for the Nova 14 lineup. But looks like things may change with the upcoming Pura 80 series.
Huawei hasn’t confirmed these details yet. Apart from the spectral lens, the leak doesn’t describe any other information about the new models. But an accidentally leaked image showcased the Pura 80’s official design. Take a look and enjoy.
