Huawei has shared its H1 2025 revenue report where it has seen the highest growth since 2020. Looks like the company is just getting started! A new input says that Huawei aims to exceed $126 billion (900 billion yuan) in revenue in 2025, following the sales of 5G chip smartphones in the market.
Caijing Times reveals that Huawei has already invested around 96.9 billion yuan in R&D from January to June (H1 2025). This reflects a rise of 9.04% and owns 22.7% of the company’s overall revenue in the first half of this year.
The R&D segment already exceeded 170 billion yuan in 2024. That says more than 10% of the revenue target last year. As per the latest report, the tech giant is ready to increase this investment in 2025, following the growth in 5G chip sales.
According to 36Kr, Huawei’s chip business is gaining the most traction in all the major business units. Even though the company is still trying to overcome the US challenges and “slowdown in 5G investment”, it is still doing well in this game.
Huawei is focusing on three major chipset departments to focus on:
- Kirin for smartphones
- Kunpeng for data centers
- Ascend for AI
In the current scenario, Huawei’s major clients list for the chipset business includes China Mobile (9%), China Telecom (28%), and China Unicom (15%).
Meanwhile, the company is keeping an eye on building its self-developed software ecosystem, AI network chips, operating systems for services, and databases.
Huawei is making progress in many fields, like computing power, AI cloud services, and more. Though 5G chip-powered smartphone sales can help Huawei the most in reaching a new revenue goal in 2025.
Zhang Pingan, the CEO of Huawei Cloud Computing, said that this year, the company’s investment will be even greater, accelerating the 5G chip production. This achievement will help it to not only gain a foothold in China but globally as well.
