Huawei has introduced a new tool for its developers called AppTest, which will help them with the development of native HarmonyOS apps. It is a useful capability that will work as a testing channel for applications, just like iOS TestFlight.
Apple has a big platform for distributing its beta versions to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS apps called TestFlight. It brings the beta apps to external tests before listing them officially on the App Store.
TestFlight enables developers to easily get feedback and identify issues before the official release. One can download the app, test it, and provide feedback within TestFlight.
Huawei has launched a similar tool, AppTest, for its native HarmonyOS apps with even better features. App developers can use this tool to send test invitations to HarmonyOS device testers.
On the other hand, testers can accept these invitations through SMS, email, or by sharing links and provide test feedback on the app’s performance or its functioning.
Here are the three major functions of AppTest:
- Accept Invitation: The developer needs to send you a test invitation first, and you can accept the invitation via SMS, email, or by sharing a link.
- Start Testing: Thoroughly test new features before releasing them to the public.
- Feedback Question: Provide feedback on issues to help developers improve app quality.

AppTest also shows the list of beta applications that testers have participated in on their smartphone/tablet/PC. It is a useful and convenient feature that makes the app testing and feedback collection easier for developers.
Huawei has opened the HarmonyOS 6.0 developer beta for its developers. At the same time, it is bringing such elements that can help app makers to build enhanced applications with better features and functionalities.
