Huawei Watch 5 goes official in China with set of new AI features

On June 11, Huawei launched the Watch 5 wearable in China with new AI features and amazing internal parameters. The device is already official in the global market. But now it is finally making to Chinese consumers with some extra benefits.

The device comes in two variants: 42mm and 46mm. The former has four colors, including Dawn Gold, Nebula Apricot, Venus White, and Phantom Moon Black. The latter is available in Titanium Silver, Galaxy Purple, Jupiter Brown, and Sky Black.

Speaking of the dimension and wrist size:

Watch 5 42mm: 42 x 42.5 x 10.5mm, 120-190mm, 48-51 grams
Watch 5 46mm: 46 x 46.7 x 11.3mm, 140-210mm, 58-63 grams

The 42mm has a 1.38-inch, while 46mm has a 1.5-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED color screen. Both offer 466 x 466 pixels resolution and 3000 nits peak brightness.

Huawei Watch 5 46mm has a spherical sapphire glass and aerospace-grade titanium alloy casing, paired with a plain leather composite strap. Besides, the 42mm uses a stainless steel case with a plain leather composite strap.

X-Tap: Huawei has introduced a new health monitoring technology with the Watch 5 called X-TAP. It is a pill-shaped small window on one of the sides and combines three sensors: ECG, PPG, and a tactile pressure sensor.

HarmonyOS 5.1

Watch 5 comes out of the box with the all-new HarmonyOS 5.1 operating system and is the first AI smartwatch in the industry. It integrates Pangu as well as DeepSeek dual large models. It offers an easier and more convenient Celia AI assistant:

Huawei Watch 5 supports two types of gestures: Draw a stroke and Knock. The first allows you to perform tasks by sliding your thumb from the knuckle of your index finger to the tip of your finger twice to select. You can tap twice with the tip of your thumb and index finger to confirm in the second gesture.

These gestures enable users to easily handle phone calls, remote control their camera, alarm clock, live window, music, and video playback control, and many other operations.

Watch 5 acts as a smart car key for your electric sedan. It can also connect with your smart home appliances and manage them. It has eSIM capability that lets you make calls even when your phone is not with you. It can also play online music and supports several apps without the requirement of your phone.

Sunflower positioning improves positioning accuracy 35%. Meanwhile, the dual battery mode: Standard and Battery Saver. The first one will run the device for 3 days (42mm) and 4.5 days (46mm). The second one increase the life by 7 and 11 days respectively.
