New Huawei 5G 8T8R tech allows signal to go through extra walls

Huawei and Hunan Telecom have jointly developed China’s first 2.1GHz 8T8R 45MHz continuous 5G network tech that enables the signal to pass through an extra wall. The company has even tested this new network solution on its home turf.

8T8R (8 Transmit and 8 Receive) refers to an advanced antenna tech that uses 8 antennas for transmitting and 8 for receiving. This mechanism enables powerful beamforming and accelerates network capacity by 40%.

The 8T8R network technology also improves coverage and supports super smooth upgrades to 5G with fewer hardware components and innovative software-defined antennas.

For now, Huawei and Hunan Telecom have completed the continuous deployment of the 1.8GHz + 2.1GHz 8T8R 5G network signal tech in Changsha County, China.

The particular solution will create the first 2.1GHz 8T8R 45MHz coverage 5G network in the country. According to the network results, the solution offers improved 5G network coverage by nearly 10dB and can easily penetrate an extra wall.

Moreover, it achieves low frequency and improves the downlink average rate by 27.0% + 31.8% uplink average rate. The 5G traffic is also now up by 20%.

Besides, the 45MHz bandwidth improves the downlink and uplink rate experience by 100% and 60%, respectively. It has three prime factors: wider coverage, enhanced experience, and greater uplink capacity.

Overall, the new 8T8R network tech solution has better wall penetration, improved weak coverage issues indoors, and can easily pass through deep inside buildings.

It further has a wave-following-human interaction tech that offers precise power delivery, all-domain energy-saving scheduling algorithms, reduced interference, and lowers power consumption.
