Huawei Mate XT has won the title of the ‘world’s first tri-fold’ over Samsung and it looks like the device will also defeat the upcoming Galaxy G Fold in terms of display size. A new input has now revealed the screen size of Samsung’s triple foldable.
According to Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation, the Samsung Galaxy G Fold could feature a smaller display than the Huawei Mate XT tri-fold handset.
The tipster highlighted that Huawei’s biggest foldable competitor worldwide is Samsung. The South Korean tech giant is focusing on making thin folding phones.
It is further pouring efforts to launch a low-priced, small folding phone in the market to regain its foldable crown lost to Huawei. Perhaps the OEM aims to achieve its goals with a 9.9-inch triple foldable smartphone.
Huawei Mate XT has a 10.2-inch screen panel, which is actually bigger than the alleged display of Samsung’s Galaxy G Fold. If the display rumors turn out to be true, then the second tri-fold may lose the game here to the Mate XT.
Earlier, Samsung said that it is taking time in the tri-fold making to offer the “best” product instead of “first”. After a long way of development, the company could unveil its first triple foldable smartphone in July this year.
The exact date is unclear, but Samsung might hold its foldable-focused grand launch event during the Summer. It would be worth seeing how the Galaxy G Fold beats the Mate XT in the folding phone market.
