About the FDP
“Law, Artificial Intelligence, and the Digital Society” is a rich and contemporary topic that explores the intersection of technology, legal systems, and societal change. As AI and digital technologies evolve rapidly, they challenge existing legal norms, prompting a re- evaluation of legal principles, human rights, and governance.
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into every aspect of modern life has transformed how societies function, from healthcare and transportation to education and governance. This digital transformation challenges traditional legal frameworks, necessitating new legal principles and regulatory mechanisms. In a digital society, where data and algorithms shape decisions and interactions, law must evolve to ensure fairness, accountability, and human rights.
This Faculty Development Programme (FDP) aims to equip educators and researchers with the knowledge, skills, and tools to understand, teach, and research the evolving intersections between legal systems, AI technologies, and digital societal changes. It will help participants to gain a clear understanding of the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence, and its relevance to legal and societal framework, and digital platforms.
The participants will also learn that how AI works, and how it impacts on various sectors (e.g., law, governance, education, economy and society), and the society. Also, it will help to explore how AI challenges traditional legal doctrines such as liability, responsibility, and personhood, and understand the ethical concerns raised by AI, including bias, discrimination, surveillance, and autonomy.
