Clover the Chicken isn’t sure what her strengths are. But when Clover tries to be just like them, she discovers she doesn’t have the skills to swim like a duck or climb like a goat.
In fact, she’s not really sure there’s anything special about her at all. But when the baby chicks wander out of the open farmyard gate and get lost in a storm, Clover is the only one brave enough to go after them and bring them safely back home. Clover’s unique skill is her bravery and care for others—and she doesn’t need anything else!
Clover’s worries will be familiar to many readers, and her optimism and determination make her an endearing character to read about. The cheery cartoon artwork emphasizes these characteristics, with the cleverly drawn facial expressions of the other animals adding humor to her antics.
