113 government employees arrested over corruption charges

RIYADH — The Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) officials have arrested 113 government employees over corruption charges from various regions of the Kingdom. Some of the arrested were released on bail. Nazaha has accused them of bribery and abuse of official influence.

The Nazaha is investigating corruption charges against 371 employees from five ministries. These are the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health.

Nazaha said on Monday that it has initiated a number of criminal and administrative cases during the month of November.
