In the early days of space trading, there was high demand for light couriers to deliver messages, products, and passengers between star systems. The Garwhal series 5 was one ship design used for these purposes. Those early days of trading may be over, but some mercenary crews continue to fly these ships. The Goose is one of those ships. Deriving its name from the ship’s series designation, it is crewed by the 4 man crew nicknamed "The Gander". The Goose is no stock G-005, with improved life support systems, engines, and hidden weaponry for self defense. While courier missions may be harder to find, the crew of the Goose is ready to tackle them in order to continue living a free spirited life in the cosmos.
Built for the Four! Category of Space Jam 2023. I’ve wanted to build a ship with a full interior for a long time, and this category seemed like as a good a reason as any to power through. The shaping was primarily inspired by the FTL Federation Bomber. I wanted the angles to be more fixed instead of finangled into place for this, and I’m happy with how it turned out. I made some mistakes in my technic frame that causes major stress between the front and the back, but I’m still learning about building in this scale.
