Häppy Independence Day!

Häppy Independence Day!

I walked to nearby Creekside Park in Cupertino, California, to observe the Independence Day fireworks. I took along a vintage Pentacon lens to try to shoot fireworks transitioning from out-of-focus into focus. The yellow pointy tubes start out of focus, where you get a bubble that moves, which creates the tubes with long exposure. While exposing I turned the lens into focus, which creates the pointy end of the tubes. Other fireworks in this shot are sharp, because they happened shortly after the focus transition. Fun experiment!

I processed an enhanced and a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
